Asphalt paving

Asphalt  is a form of petroleum that is black, sticky and highly viscous. Used as a binding agent or “glue” and mixed with aggregate (stone, sand, and gravel), it makes asphalt-concrete, the material mainly used in asphalt paving for road construction.

Known for its strength and durability, asphalt is one of the best options for most paved surfaces.

Asphalt paving is the process of installing hot, warm or cold mix asphalt as a pavement.

• asphalt road paving

Installation process:

• sub-base preparation
• asphalt installation
• asphalt compaction

Multiple layers of asphalt, or “lifts”, may be installed to handle different weight bearing loads.

If properly installed, asphalt can have a life span of twenty to thirty years, making it one of the best options for most paved surfaces.
